Working through partnerships across the health service, Orbis trains local eye care teams, creates new eye care units, conducts screening programs, and improves patient referral networks so people can receive the treatment they need. Approximately 189 million people suffer unnecessarily from blindness or poor vision, and almost 90% of vision impaired people live in low- and middle-income countries.
